You Worry About You, Mom

One of the more challenging aspects of being a parent is keeping a straight face when your kid says something that you just want to bust out laughing about, but you really should be correcting him. For example, this morning when I repeatedly told Christopher not to get his blocks out before school (too much of a hassle to try and get him to put them all back while also trying to get out the door).  He insisted that he was building a tower and I kept insisting that we could do this together after school. After going back and forth about whether the tower would be built now or after school, Christopher looked at me and said, "You worry about you, Mom."

And then there is the moment. That split second where he is testing you to see your reaction and you are holding your breath trying not to laugh. Because if you laugh then you just encouraged this behavior and he gets excited and keeps doing it. These scenarios are usually handled better by Mike, we all know that my emotions are usually all over my face. Luckily, this morning Mike was there for reenforcement.

And little miss, is really starting to give us a run for our money. She has proven to be busier than her brother ever was. She is always after shoes, cords or anything else that should not be going in her mouth. She is also starting to pull up on everything. Someone needs to let her know she isn't even 8 months yet.
