We had a special guest with us on all of our weekend adventures. The spiderman monster truck. You may see some random appearances of this little guy.
We brought out some new toys for Mikayla. Since she is pulling up on everything I figured we might as well have things that she can actually pull up on that are kid friendly. Instead of the fireplace or Mike's weights.
She figured out the lion pretty quickly. She isn't walking with it yet, but I would not be surprised if she is by the end of the week. She did go from toy to Mom's leg to couch to toy a lot. Christopher really wanted to push her on this, he kept telling us how Mikayla was going to grow bigger so he could push her around.
We had a birthday party at a park that is walking distance from our house. I felt really silly when I put this park's address in our GPS and we literally could have walked here. We have been looking for a great park for us. We have tried a few that we drove too and even a school playground. All this time we could have walked to this one.
Christopher and Mikayla loved the swings.
It seems like just yesterday Christopher was this size and swinging away.
Time for a flashback picture.
I can't believe how high Christopher liked to go. When did he get so big?
Mike grilled up some steak and I roasted potatoes and sauteed some fresh green beans.
Sunday morning Christopher and I made blueberry pancakes. He picked out this serving utensil - not sure what to call it - and started stirring the pancake mix with it. He then told me, "Mom, this one doesn't work right." I agreed. Do you see our little friend?
He got the blueberries and then dumped the entire box into the 3 cups of pancake mix.
I was the only one that ate them. There was only a few ingredients, oatmeal, spelt flour, baking powder and milk.
Christopher and I then made our weekly trip to the store along with the monster truck.
We always have to say hello to the lobsters. He talks to them like they can hear him and then asks me why they aren't looking at him.
Mikayla hardly slept this weekend. This was her longest nap of the weekend, an hour at about 3:30 on Sunday afternoon. This is how she fell asleep.
Christopher and I decided to keep the house quiet for Mikayla's nap and headed to the pool. On our way there he asked me if we were going to wear our swimming shoes, I told him no, we are going to be bare foot. He said, "Mom, I have kid feet. Your teasing me, we don't have bear feet." True. He was so excited that he repeated everything the navigation said to make sure I got it. "Mom, go one mile and turn left. Mom, did you hear that?" He would repeat until I would acknowledge the command. Then, "Mom, go half a mile and turn right, you hear that?" You get the idea. Luckily, it was only about a ten minute drive with about 5 commands.
After the pool we stopped and got some ice cream. Christopher had chocolate - his favorite. And yes he got it everywhere.
