TV-Off Tuesday - One-Liner Edition

Another TV-Off Tuesday without Mom.  I had a dinner for work last night and missed the activities. Since Mike isn't all into story telling I figured I would have a one-liner edition.  Of some of Christopher's most recent one-liners.

"Now it's my turn to talk." - Christopher telling Dad.

"UH-ehhh" - Mikayla is trying to start to say Uh-Oh.

"Change your words." - Christopher telling Mom when he didn't like that he must take his PJ's off to drink his milk in the morning.

"These are delicious." - Christopher

"Don't eat all the cookies, save some for Mom." Christopher

Weekend Wrap-Up

This past weekend was full of lots of fun activities. I really pushed myself to be more outgoing this weekend and do a lot of activities with the kids.  I have to say it was so much fun!!! I would say it was a fantastic weekend, but it wasn't because Dad was out of town all weekend and we really missed him.

The weekend started out with an impromptu play date with another family at the daycare whose Dad was out of town. Both our kids are the same ages, our daughters are only a week apart!

If you look closely at this picture you will see lil' miss there is standing on her own. She started this on Thursday and really got a kick out of doing it a lot.

We had Christopher's last SoccerTots class.  They scrimmaged and he did really well. In two weeks we start a new soccer program with two of his classmates and he will actually wear cleats and shin guards!

While we waited for Mike's parents to come up we went for a little walk outside. Christopher and I took turns pushing Mikayla in the car and Christopher rode his bike.

Once Grandma and Grandad got to our house us girls went on a shopping trip.

Mikayla loved shopping. She would not let go of this skirt or jacket.

Of course when we got home we had to try on our outfits. If you look closely at the picture above you will see Mikayla (standing by herself) and Christopher dancing together. She was there long enough for me to catch her with my phone. She has the most sinister laugh when she stands!

Go Bears!!!

The photo shoot wasn't our most successful. Christopher and Mikayla decided wrestling around would be more fun.

We then went to our new found park by our house and played while I got to try out the trail with a run.

On Sunday we had a birthday party at the pool with one of Christopher's classmates. He had such a fun time.

I almost decided not to go because I knew I couldn't take both the kids to the pool by myself.

But, my friend at work graciously offered to watch Mikayla for me while we were at the party.

Everyone had a good time and Mikayla made a new friend.

Because we just didn't have enough fun on Sunday we decided to go on one last walk.

Christopher really loved pushing his sister around in this little car. I almost gave this to our daycare's rummage sale because we never used it with Christopher.

Looks like we will be using it a lot now (you were right Mike).

What a great weekend we had. It felt great staying active all weekend. The only thing missing was Dad!

TV-Off Tuesday

This TV-Off Tuesday began with Mikayla's first ride in her big girl car seat. She and her hair are getting so big!

Flashback picture alert: Christopher's first ride in his big boy car seat! They look so much alike, except Mikayla is almost 9 months and Christopher was 6 months.

Christopher then decided he wanted to ride his bike outside for a while ....

Daddy came and saved Mom's arms and held Mikayla for a little bit while Christopher had fun playing outside.

Then I think Dad got jealous of all the fun Christopher was having on his bike and tried to steal a ride.

After much persuasion we got Christopher inside to make our chocolate cookies.

Then Christopher decided to get in on the "making" action by making himself a sandwich.

It was a graham cracker, cheese stick and pretzel on top.

And then he ate it.  Yum, yum ...

The cookies were delicious, but Christopher and Dad didn't really like them. They definitely had to go with Christopher to school today so that I don't eat them all myself.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Another wonderful busy weekend for the Reddings. We started it off with soccer class. Only one more to go.

This week they had parent participation, definitely a great idea for the coach since some parents don't pay attention to their children during the class.

Dad got to be the goalie. Christopher expression was priceless while Dad was out there playing with him.

We then headed down to Chicago for a BBQ and Mom got to visit one of her oldest friends and her 1 year old daughter.

Mikayla and Tatum had a great time playing together.

Mike reminisced the old days at his parents' house.

We then went to Herlocker fest and had a blast catching up with old friends.

Mikayla continued to be people shy and tease everyone when they tried to hold her.

Christopher played with some friends. He was the ring leader with the other kids.

They went around hitting the trees with their bats.

Christopher also loves to wear the football helmet when he goes to Grandma and Grandad's house

It surprised me how long he wore this. These things are heavy.

Christopher helped us pack-up the car and head back up to Milwaukee.

TV-Off Tuesday - Pictureless

It just didn't seem like the week was going right without my weekly TV-Off Tuesday post.  So here is my re-cap of Mike's re-cap of his TV-Off Tuesday (I was in Chicago at a conference).

Mike's morning started off marvelously to the rude awakening that he forgot to set the alarm clock. On Monday, Wednesday or Friday this would not matter because Mike works from home - lucky dog. However, Tuesdays are his day in the office. So he needed to get up and shower before Mikayla got up because she can not be unsupervised. Luckily, Christopher woke Dad up first and Mikayla slept in.

When Mikayla did wake-up Dad was greeted with a large blow-out - no details needed.  Just as they were getting ready to leave Christopher needed to "make yuckies." This ended up being a saving grace seeing as Christopher forgot underwears.  That would have been a weird note from his daycare teachers.

In addition to Tuesdays being "TV-Off" it has also been a field trip day for most of the summer for Christopher. Today they were going to a farm and needed a car seat for the trip - Mike forgot to leave Christopher's. We're guessing they had an extra because Christopher talked about his trip to the farm after school.

After all this, Mike finally got into the office and then texted me that he thinks he forgot deodorant - glad I was in Chicago :)

When I told Christopher I would not be home for TV-Off Tuesday he asked me who was going to make something with him - I told him Dad. I know Mike was thrilled about this. Dad stopped at the store on his way home and picked up some packaged cookie dough and they made chocolate chip cookies. The TV-Off Tuesday tradition continues.

You can thank Mike for the lack of pictures.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Another fun weekend in the Redding house! We started it off with a surprise visit (for Christopher) from grandma and granddad.

They graciously came up late Friday so Mike and I could run our first 5K together early Saturday morning.

Christopher and I went to the store and since Wal-Mart doesn't have food samples his special treat was riding the "scooter."

Mikayla rocked a fro.

The kiddos played.

Mikayla pulled up on everything!

We shared hats. Christopher is saying, "here you go lil' miss."

Dad got a hat too!

We learned Christopher has cool trick.

I baked some snacks for my trip.

We tried out the new jogging stroller on a walk to the park.

Christopher helped mom put out the garbage and wore "tap" shoes to accomplish this.

Here's to a new week and Mike playing single Dad.
