TV-Off Monday and Tuesday

Before I get too far behind, I'd like to recap our TV-Off Monday and Tuesday. We had a double edition this week because Christopher had a Thanksgiving feast at his daycare and I chose to bring cookies.

So Monday night Christopher and I made my secret ingredient cookies. He then chose to make his own dinner.

Gold fish bread, craisins and cheese. You would think with tastes like that this kid would eat anything.

I took Tuesday and Wednesday off this week. So I went and saw Breaking Dawn by myself Tuesday before I got to go to Christopher's Thanksgiving Feast activities.

Very cute these kids singing a long.

Mikayla really enjoyed her brother's entertainment.

This was Christopher's special neck bow.

Mikayla, Mom and Dad were so proud!

Christopher telling his teacher what the secret ingredient in the cookies was.

I was so proud earlier this week when I saw what Christopher was thankful for. It warmed my heart and then when we showed up for the Thanksgiving Feast ...

And then Mike and I got a great chuckle what Christopher said he liked about his dad.

It was such a great time. We had a lot going on this week, like a little sassy pants turning 1!!!

Weekend Wrap-Up

This weekend went by in flash, or maybe that was just Mikayla. We have few pictures, I did catch this one on Sunday night while I was getting the kids' dinner together. Christopher scooted over to hang out with his sister and play.  I should have taken a video of these two laughing together.

They played together a lot on Sunday. Mikayla is definitely one tough cookie. She loves to keep up with her brother. When I see her pick up one of her brother's toys after he puts it down and she starts playing with them, his golf bat club for example, I imagine her singing to herself, "Anything you can do, I can do better."

At the end of each weekend Mike and I sit down and eat dinner and keep repeating to ourselves, that Mikayla she is a spitfire, that Mikayla she is spunky, that Mikayla she is tenacious. It keeps going until we have used all the adjectives we can think of to describe the large sassy personality that Mikayla exudes. Then, we think about what a great big brother she has. Always, willing to share and play with her. And then we end with, "we'll see how long that lasts."

Happy Thanksgiving week to all!

TV-Off Tuesday

We started this past Tuesday off together. We all went in to daycare to get a family photo taken for a project Christopher was doing.

After work we all went to Target to pick up the picture, and Chili's was in the air and we all went out to eat dinner.

Apparently, Tuesdays kids eat free at Chilis. That was a nice surprise.

As we were leaving something happened that I though would never happen to me. A stranger, took Mikayla from me because she just had to see this adorable baby. I was like is this really happening right now. It was very strange.

Mikayla 11 Months

I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. She is almost ONE!

She has maintained her spunky outlook on life. She is definitely always on the go!

I would say she officially started walking the week before her 11 month "birthday."

And she hasn't stopped.  She is almost running. She is definitely one tough cookie. Always trying to be in the middle of the action and hardly making a sound when she face plants herself when she gets going too fast. We even witnessed a three point turn last night.
We have started eating solids. She has been doing really well. We have started introducing the sippy cup. She is fine with it when it's just water, but if we try to give it to her instead of a bottle she gets.a.little.mad.

And I'm sure this is just the beginning of these, seriously, MOM looks.

Weekend Wrap-Up

We I started the weekend off bright and early trying to finally take Mikayla's 11 month photos before she turns one, NEXT WEEK!

You mean, you want ME to sit still so you can take a picture?

Fat chance Mom. You mean you want my brother and I to sit together to take the most adorable cute picture of us together?

Fat chance on that one too, Mom.

We had Christopher's first HoopsterTots class. He had a great time!

We then went to the party store to pick up decorations for Mikayla's FIRST BIRTHDAY party.

She is getting so excited!

We also then went out to eat breakfast for the first time in a long time.

Apparently, Mikayla had enough of Mom bringing out the phone for pictures.

Christopher was all for a few more shots.

We ate plenty of bacon and pancakes.

Mikayla, had a little bit of a bad hair day ...

On Sunday, we mad some scuffins (I guess they are a mixture between scones and muffins).

They were pretty tasty. And we were off to enjoy another fun filled week!

The Return of TV-Off Tuesday

We did not abandon TV-Off Tuesday, we've just had soccer for the last two months on Tuesdays. This pretty much covered our activities in September and October.

We started off Tuesday showing off our new hair dos.

Mikayla's hair is getting so long. At times she definitely looks like a hot mess with her hair.  Today, was definitely do something with it day. So I changed it up from the pig tails and did a pony tail.

When we got home we mad some Pumpkin Cranberry muffins.

Luckily, it was a mix, because I kept having to run after Mikayla. Of course, Christopher did not eat any but Dad and Mikayla gave them a thumbs up.

It was definitely refreshing and we are contemplating having a TV-Off Thursday too ...

Weekend Wrap-Up

I blame being a day late on daylight savings. The fall back in time had made me fall back on posting too.

We started the weekend with Christopher's long awaited haircut. He has been asking for a haircut for a couple of weeks. He keeps telling us he wants it smaller, and that he wants a cool haircut like his Dad's. He wanted all his curls gone. I'm still mourning.

We changed things up a bit and Dad made homemade cinnamon rolls. Christopher did not want any pictures taken of him.

Christopher only helped for a few minutes and then he was off.

Poor Dad had to do the fun parts all by himself.

They were mighty tasty.

Dad also tackled a couple of home projects that have been lingering ... for about a year.

Then Christopher declared Sunday a pajama day. He got his clothes wet and when he went upstairs to change, he came down in another set of pajamas. We did not leave the house at all - it was kind of nice.

Here's an adorable picture of Mikayla on Halloween. I had to throw this one in seeing as I didn't have any pictures of Mikayla. I'm too busy keeping her out of things to take pictures.

Happy Halloween

This Halloween felt almost like a Christmas holiday. Christopher had two celebrations on two different days at school, one for his daycare class and one for his preschool class. Then we had a Halloween party to go to and then we celebrated Halloween at our house on Halloween.

On our way to a Halloween Party of one of Mike's former co-workers.  We went trick or treating in their neighborhood.

Mikayla had everyone cracking up because she kept trying to get out of the stroller. At times she was hanging by just the straps. A few time other parents asked me how sure I was of the straps that were holding her in.

Christopher was a little bit of a slow poke on the trick or treating. He kept stopping to look at all the other costumes.

Then it was time to trick or treat at our neighborhood. We had to bribe Christopher to go out. All he wanted to do was hand out the candy to kids.

All Mikayla wanted to do is get tootsie rolls for herself.

I'm not too sure which Christopher enjoyed more the handing out or the trick or treating.

Mikayla our little stink lady bug.

Here is to next year and when Mikayla will be able to go out with her brother. I'm pretty sure she will pick trick or treating over handing out the candy.
