The hardest secret to keep ...

Christopher is going to be a big brother! This has been difficult to keep quiet, because as you can see from the picture of me at 6 weeks - I started showing a lot earlier than with Christopher.

I'm due on December 3rd and I think we are ready to add another little munchkin to our house :) This pregnancy is definitely a lot different than with Christopher. During his pregnancy I was blessed with no morning sickness and this time around I have been pretty nauseous the last 9 weeks, but I think it is finally starting to subside.

I don't think Christopher has any idea that a new baby is coming, but he can say "big brother." We'll keep you posted on the latest little one.

13 weeks pregnant.

Look at me ...

"Look at me, Momma!" is Christopher's latest catch phrase. His first was hand. "Hand, Momma" and "Hand, Daddy" so that he could take our hand and take us to a different room, to pick up a book or to turn on the T.V.

Then Christopher started saying, "Come ON, Momma!" and he has a cute hand motion that he does with this. He is very determined to get us to come on to where he wants which can be very tiring.

Then we moved on to "Go Away!" He likes to use this one when we say it's time to change the diaper or get dressed. It is usually followed with a door shut in our faces.

The latest, "Look at me, Momma!" entails him standing in a shopping cart, or on a toy or putting his dinner in his hair. He thinks he is quite the comedian and it is pretty difficult to keep from laughing at him.

I'm looking forward to his next catch phrase, I just hope that it is not inappropriate or embarrassing :).

Children's Museum

Mike was out of town last weekend, so I decided to take Christopher to the Children's Museum in Milwaukee. It was the perfect place for him he could climb, explore and check out all the things.

The Terrible Twos ...

So I believe I have officially been christened into the terrible twos. I experienced my first public, uncontrollable tantrum in a shopping cart today.

For more than 20 minutes at Target today he screamed and kicked and tried to climb out of the cart. I swear I heard him saying "I hate you, Mommy" but I'm pretty sure he doesn't know the word hate yet or understand it. I lived through the stares and the looks of pity from other mom's with toddlers.

I guess it had to happen at some point and I know I can get through it. Let's just hope it doesn't happen often.

As you can see he is pretty exhausted from his terrible afternoon, and so am I.

Doctors appointment and new daycare update ...

We had Christopher's two year old well baby check this week. He is 37 " (95th percentile) and weighs 29 lbs (65th percentile). I can't believe how big he is getting. I really know he is growing up because he got his vaccine in his arm, not his thigh.

We even got our referral to the pediatric dentist. This is an appointment I am dreading. I know we have to make it soon because I have confirmed he has gotten two of his two year old molars but I haven't been able to see back far enough for the other two.

He has even been sitting on the potty more and more. Once he even asked me to open his diaper so he could sit on it. He isn't actually using it, but I'll take whatever interest he shows in it for now.

Daycare update:
Christopher did really well his first week at his new daycare. He really seems to like it. One day he even pouted and turned away from me when I came to pick him up. All the teachers and parents are really nice.

Today we even had Mommy and Muffins, but he wasn't the most well behaved. I think he was afraid some of the other kids would sit in my lap. I can tell he is still adjusting to his new friends, but I'm sure by the end of next week he will be kissing the girls before he leaves.

A big day at the Redding house

Christopher turned 2 today! Actually, Mike reminded me this morning that at 6:23 p.m. he will be 2. I can't believe how fast time has flown by. We are definitely hitting the terrible twos and he really is growing into a little boy.

Today that became quite the reality for me. We started our new daycare and I was really kind of nostalgic about leaving our old daycare on Friday. Especially, when I picked up his stuff and they made a card for him with all his little girl friends hands on it. It was really sweet of them. They even gave me the picture that was on the front of his cubby which is so cute!

This morning I was really nervous about this new transition for him and thought that I would be at the daycare for an hour while he got adjusted. Not so much. The director was waiting for us in the room and he remembered her, walked right up to her, took her hand and started playing with her and the other kids. It didn't even matter that I was there or not. I even walked out of the room to put his stuff in his new cubby and he didn't even notice. When I went to leave he just turned and waved by and went off to play with more toys. I'm glad that he is growing into a confident, independent little man, but sad that it is happening so fast.

Let's just hope the rest of his day goes as smoothly for him as the drop off.
